BRAIN-DERIVED NEUROTROPHIC FACTOR BDNF AND INTESTINAL METABOLITES OF SCFAS
Abstract
The neurotrophic factor BDNF is considered an important protein that stimulates neuron growth. It also supports cell regeneration and neuroplasticity when nerve cells are damaged. It participates in learning and memory processes. It is mostly produced in the endoplasmic reticulum. A lack of this factor is accompanied by a decrease in long-term memory.
